STEADY SUPPORT THROUGH CHANGE
Therapy for high-functioning individuals and couples
Grounded Care for Complex Lives
Brooke Mathewes is a clinical therapist with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals and couples navigating high responsibility, significant life stressors, illness, loss, and major transitions.
Many clients seek support when the strategies that once worked no longer feel sustainable, during periods of illness, caregiving, grief, career pressure, relationship strain, or when the emotional cost of carrying so much alone becomes too high.
The work is grounded in evidence-based approaches with a focus on change and tracking outcomes while drawing on DBT, RODBT, and CBT. Brooke’s clinical style places a strong emphasis on attunement, responsiveness, and the quality of the therapeutic relationship.
In-person and virtual therapy options are available.
The Work
You are in the right place
Taking action is often the hardest part. Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit can be daunting. Ask questions, identify preferences, and trust your intuition.
A strong therapeutic relationship, paired with confidence in your provider’s experience and approach, creates the foundation for meaningful work over time.
Clients often seek support for concerns related to:
• anxiety and depression
• grief and loss
• substance use and recovery
• disordered eating and eating disorders
• cancer, chronic illness, and end of life
• trauma and complex family systems
• relationship challenges and life transitions
Many clients are high-functioning professionals managing ongoing stress, increasing responsibility, and the emotional impact of demanding personal or professional circumstances.
-
Individual counseling provides a focused space to better understand what is happening beneath persistent stress, illness, relationship challenges, loss, burnout, or major life changes.
Sessions are collaborative and tailored to the individual, supporting greater emotional awareness, clearer decision-making, and meaningful change over time.
Clients often seek support for high functioning anxiety and depression, substance use, disordered eating, grief and loss, chronic illness, caregiving stress, trauma, and major life transitions.
Treatment draws from evidence-based approaches, including DBT, RO-DBT, and CBT, while remaining responsive to the individual rather than guided by a fixed model.
-
Couples therapy focuses on how two people relate under pressure — particularly when communication breaks down, patterns repeat, or disconnection begins to take hold.
The work is not simply about resolving conflict, but about increasing awareness, improving responsiveness, and creating more intentional and sustainable ways of relating.
Sessions support both individuals in understanding their role within the dynamic while strengthening communication, connection, and the relationship itself.
Couples therapy is offered on a limited basis and is not billed through insurance.
-
Consultation is available for individuals or professionals seeking dedicated time to think through a specific situation, decision, or challenge.
This may include clinical consultation, leadership-related challenges, complex interpersonal dynamics, professional transitions, or situations where additional perspective is needed.
Consultation is typically short-term and structured around gaining perspective, identifying next steps, and moving forward with greater intention.
Brooke is also a Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) Certified Trainer and offers consultation for FIT practitioners on a limited basis.
-
Supervision is offered to clinicians seeking a more thoughtful and attuned approach to their work.
This includes a focus on clinical judgment, responsiveness, and navigating the complexity of therapeutic relationships, clinical decision-making, and the realities of day-to-day practice.
Supervision is grounded in real-world application rather than theory alone and is designed to support skill development, professional confidence, and sustainable growth over time.
